Hello and welcome to my blog. My name is Barb ("Bah-buh-ah" if you are my mother or from Boston). Many of my close friends call me Barbie.
I am 52 years old, and I have a grade 2 atypical meningioma.
Most days, my world feels surreal.
For almost nine months, I have kept most of my thoughts, fears, and experiences bottled up inside. I try to stay positive, but every so often, emotions spill out with hurricane-force intensity—usually at the most inconvenient times. Several close friends have suggested “talk therapy,” but I am not much of a talker. I am not much of a writer or blogger either. This is simply me “talking” to you and letting go of what I have been holding inside.
I hope to provide some insight into my personal experience and help others who are struggling with their own diagnosis, treatment, or recovery.
This blog is NOT intended to provide ANY medical advice. It is simply a reflection of the world as I know it (or so I think).
